EVALUWRITER Implements Latest Security Technology
Using a web-based architecture, examiners can optimize their time and resources by conducting and transcribing FCEs
from multiple locations, uploading the results to a centralized database just like on-line banking. Additionally,
in accordance with HIPPA, on-line security features are now implemented using the
secure sockets layer protocol (SSL).
The purpose of SSL is to encrypt data transfers between the Evaluwriter server and a client's web browser. The
technology is identical to that used by on-line banking and other financial institutions. During a secure session, a yellow
padlock icon appears in the browser's status window. Before a secure session begins, the client indicates acceptance
of the host as a trusted authority.
A client can instruct the browser to accept future secure connections with a trusted host by installing a root certificate.
A root certificate is available for the Evaluwriter site and can be installed by clicking
